Social and regional commitment are fundamental components of the identity of the Savings Banks Finance Group’s institutions.

They are central elements of their self-image. As local civic institutions, they play an active role in shaping the social and economic lives of citizens.

Even in difficult times, the Savings Banks Finance Group has proven to be a stable basis for the communal wellbeing of society. In 2008, the institutions and their foundations dedicated approximately EUR 445 million to public-interest projects in Germany.
