G20 and Locally Focused Banks
On 1st December 2016, Germany took over the presidency of the G20 from China.
To mark this event, the German Savings Banks Association (DSGV) is organising a conference, together with the National Association of German Cooperative Banks (BVR), the World Savings and Retail Banking Institute (WSBI) and the European Association of Cooperative Banks (EACB).
This full-day conference will take place on Thursday 9th March 2017 in the DSGV building in Berlin under the heading “G20 and Locally Focused Banks”.
The aim of the event is to highlight the major G20 financial issues from the perspective of locally focused credit institutions. Distinguished representatives from a number of different countries will discuss the role and importance of regional banks in ensuring sustainable economic development and the stability of the financial markets.
As keynote speakers, Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, Minister of Finance for Germany, and Dr Andreas Dombret, Member of the Board of the Deutsche Bundesbank, will talk about the economic and political challenges facing the G20.
